Slow acquire and reconstruction - i-CAT Classic

I updated my Xoran software several months ago to ver 3.1.77 and have been pleased with how it works. I have done only .2, .3 & .4mm scans up until today, when I performed a .25mm scan. The acquire was extremely slow (seemed like 2 minutes) and the reconstruct was over 10 minutes. Does this seem right? I immediately followed it with a .3mm scan which reconstructed in just 2 minutes. I just thought I check and see if others have this same experience.

This behavior has never been reported before, at least to my knowledge. Just to ensure it was not a one time phenomenon for whatever reason, could you perform another dummy 0.25 scan and see if it repeats?

My 13 cm, 40 sec. .25mm scan took 2 minutes to acquire and 10:07 to reconstruct, with the "Display Photo" off.

Sound normal?

We are still running Xoran version 3.1.62 and the .25mm 13 cm height reconstruction takes about 7-8 minutes.

Our team conducted some tests and concluded that the total acquistion time (scan time plus storage of all raw frames) and reconstruction time were in line with Matt's numbers, with some variations based on the speed/power of the ACQ Computer.

The longer times are not unexpected due to the size of the raw data (4 times the size as compared to 0.3 or 0.4 voxel scans), plus the increased number of voxels in the reconstructed volume, especially in a full height (13cm) scan.
